Chess games won by White

White moves first and keeps the initiative more often than not. These replays show how that small head start was turned into a full point.

How these games were decided

Look for the moment White's development lead or central space became something concrete: a won pawn, an open file aimed at the king, or a piece that Black could no longer defend. Many of these games end in checkmate, but just as many are decided by steadily converting extra material.

The library holds 33 games in this group: 27 by checkmate, 6 by resignation. They lasted 28 moves on average, and the most common opening family among them is the Uncommon First Moves.
